4 dead, 10 hurt in Californian shootings that also targeted an elementary school

It's yet another mass shooting in the United States of America, and yet another one that has struck and hurt young children at a school. Police have confirmed recent speculations following today's shooting rampage in Northern California's Tehama County.

Officials said the suspect gunman conducted shootings at 7 different locations across the county before shooting up the school. He was killed in a police pursuit that ended with a gun battle with police in a neighborhood street.

Police confirmed one of the four people killed in today's mass shooting was a mother of which was driving her child to the local elementary school. According to the police sources and investigators; the gunman shot into the car windows.

The school district of the area confirmed reports that the gunman had in fact made his way into the school and had attempted to enter classrooms, shooting through windows and through the walls of the elementary school classrooms.

Officials said one student was injured by gunshot wounds but is in stable condition. Another two students had been transported to hospitals following injuries that came with broken glass and other broken debris nearby. A teacher was also hurt in this fashion.

Police said they suspect that the gunman got frustrated when attempting to enter the school classrooms and decided to leave the school altogether and abandon what seemingly was plans to slaughter more children.

District of the school in the town said 'amazing' performances by the school's staff aided in the safety of citizens in what they called a 'tragic incident' at the school. The school was on lock down for hours after the shooting; until police confirmed the gunman was no longer a threat to the students.
