Nancy Pelosi Breaks Records With Eight Hour House Speech For 'Dreamers'

One of the most dedicated women today must be Nancy Pelosi, by all means. An eight hour long speech, the longest House speech ever delivered, nearly completely dedicated to immigration and 'dreamers' (DACA recipients) definitely strained her voice.

It's unsure whether or not she's gotten the message across, but House minority leader Nancy Pelosi of California is one tough fighter, and is now calling on Paul Ryan, the Speaker of the House, to commit to passing a deal protecting Dreamers very shortly.

It comes as the Republican promise that a deal promoting and helping 'dreamers' would pass within weeks. They've made this promise for months now, and the deadline is coming up. With some 'dreamers' already leaving, Pelosi says it is definitely time to act.

Her massive speech, considered a blow-back for the GOP in the House as well as House Democrats, came as Senate Republicans and Democrats had finally reached a deal on immigration of which both parties could've happily agreed on.

According to Pelosi, she and most other Democrats wouldn't vote for the deal without firmer commitment from the Republican Speaker Paul Ryan to pass DACA protection bills.

A top aide to Paul Ryan called out Pelosi, applauding her 'endurance' following the speech's long-awaited for termination after a full total of eight hours and seven minutes. Pelosi is 77 years old, and wore heels the entire time. I know, ouch.

As yet another government shutdown is rapidly approaching, only weeks after the last one fully blamed on Senate Democrats (and, partially, Trump himself), it seems like the fate of the bill, though uncertain, is fully up to the House of Representatives.

The bill reportedly covers the US government funding for two years, nearing the end of President Trump's term in office.

Trump has recently told the entire world that he supports yet another government shutdown if it means that his desperately-promised border wall or border protection of which he used as one of his biggest campaign promises in the 2016 election doesn't get passed. He's also supported the legal pathway for 2 million DACA recipients if it passes.
