As the 2018 midterms approach, it seems many states are reviewing the fairness of their political districts. A recent attempt made in North Carolina, pitching the idea that their congressional district map unfairly helps the G.O.P., was shot down by a judge.

We can't say the same for a similar pitch made to the Supreme Court in Pennsylvania, where the court ordered the Pennsylvania congressional maps to be scrapped and re-made or edited, citing gerry-mandering.

According to the supreme court in Pennsylvania, the congressional district map unfairly helped the G.O.P. and needed to be updated to better-fit current stances.

The upcoming 2018 November midterms are said to be in the crossfires of any edits made the maps, though, leading to the Republican attempt to retract and end the Pennsylvania-judge declared unfair partisanship in the map and order to be edited.

Should it be edited drastically ending some state wins in the state for the Republican party, it's clear that much of the 2018 midterms and even the 2020 re-election of President Trump could be hinged.

During the 2016 election, then-candidate Trump narrowly won the state, though it wouldn't have drastically changed the outcome of the election.

The judge ordered the newly made map to be submitted to a Democratic Governor by February 9th. The governor then has up to February 15th to accept it, or refuse it. It's clear the changes might help the Democrats secure their midterm House successes.

Should the governor not meet the deadlines, the court said they will draft their own map using input and opinions from both sides of the aisle.
