Afghanistan Under Attack

Within recent months, terror attacks in Afghanistan has witnessed a dramatic increase. Dozens of people have died within only the past few weeks, with at least two major attacks totaling to more than 110 deaths and hundreds of injuries.

The most recent attack has left at least 103 dead and more than 200 hospitalized after an ambulance packed with explosives detonated in Kabul, the nation's capital. According to reports, the attack has been claimed by the local Taliban group.

Photos of the catastrophic bombing shows hundreds of people running from the scene, with extreme carnage showing the devastating that the terrorists left behind. With a country not being any form of a stranger to major attacks by terror groups like the Taliban, Al-Qaeda or even ISIS; they know how to reel from such incidents.

Military units, including American troops, joined at the scene in order to help alongside a number of police officers and medical first responders. Let's take a look at the crippling events that shocked Afghanistan recently:

(January 24, 2018) Only three days before the attack that killed 103 in Kabul, reports indicated that ISIS was responsible for an attack on the British aid agency 'Save the Children' in the Afghan city of Jalalabad, leaving at least 4 people dead.

(January 20, 2018) A week prior to this catastrophe, the Taliban claimed responsibility for an attack on Kabul's Intercontinental Hotel that left at least 22 people dead and dozens more hurt. The gunman took siege the hotel, leaving 14 foreigners among the dead. It was the second attack on the major 5-star rated hotel.

On January 4th, 2018, a suicide bombing left at least 20 people dead and more than 30 were injured when ISIS militants conducted a suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan. It came only days after yet another attack welcoming in the new year for Afghans.

On January 2nd, 2018, only two days after the new year rung out, at least three police officers were mildly wounded after a mine-bomb was placed in aim of killing Afghan policemen. No group has claimed responsibility for the 'failed' attack.

On December 28th, 2017, only weeks before the new year rung out across Afghanistan, an extreme fatal explosion targeting Shia Muslims in the Tebyan Cultural Center of Kabul left 50 dead and 80 hospitalized. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.
