Trump Responds to Bannon Support: "We Don't Talk" Anymore

After a bombshell book promoted former-WH chief strategist Steve Bannon's statements that criticized the Trump administration and the first family's moves in regards to the Russia investigations broke yesterday; Trump and Bannon entered an apparent rivalry - even after a positive history between the two.

Bannon is no stranger to criticizing Trump's family and taking credit for the President's success in his first year. He's claimed responsibility for Trump's success in the 2016 election; being one of the first major Republicans to back him up.

However, his quotes revealed from Michael Wolff's book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" may have crossed the President's red line. It heavily criticized, in particular, the President's son, Donald Jr., and his meeting with apparent Russian officials back in June of 2016 in regards to gathering dirt on Hillary Clinton.

In one quote, Bannon called Don Jr.'s moves with Russian officials 'treasonous', 'unpatriotic' and even 'bad shit". He accused Melania Trump of crying of sadness when Trump won the election and said the President looked 'horrified' at the results. It follows numerous previous claims from WH officials claiming he didn't want to win.

The First Lady's office said the book would 'obviously' be sold in the fiction section. Don Jr. attacked Steve Bannon's news website, Breitbart.com, saying he read the comments (over 27,000 comments on their article revolving around the explosive book) and expressed his shock with the anti-Bannon outrage on the platform. "Without Breitbart, Steve has... um... nothing" Trump Jr. tweeted.

Meanwhile, the President himself lead the extreme anger that filled the hearts of many of his supporters with a 4-paragraph statement absolutely slamming the former WH chief strategist, effectively calling Bannon 'useless', a 'liar' and said he 'lost his mind'. Trump's lawyers have filed a 'cease to desist' against the Fire and Fury book.

After Trump's extreme anger-filled anti-Bannon slam yesterday, Bannon wasn't so quick to respond but did respond to questions about it on a radio talk saying "Trump is a great man". The President responded to Bannon earlier today to the Press.

"Well, he called me a great man yesterday. So you know, he changed his tune pretty quick." The President told a reporter, before continuing to respond to a few other questions. "No, we don't talk." he referred to a question asking whether or not the President is on good terms with his former-chief strategist.

Bannon hasn't yet responded to Trump's continue to discredit his relationship. It's unlikely the feud will end anytime soon, though, as the Russia investigators and the FBI are likely to take a closer look at the bombshell book promoted by Wolff about Steve Bannon to question about what Bannon could know in regards to the potential of collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russian officials.

Meanwhile, Mueller is being sued (as well as the Justice Department) by Paul Manafort who claims that Mueller was given too much power as the FBI director for reviewing Manafort's personal finances that were 'totally unconnected' to the Russia investigation. Manafort was indicted, but plead not guilty, to money laundering, conspiracy against the United States and 10 other charges proposed.
