Opinion: If Someone is Innocent, They Usually Want to Prove it

Before we begin, place yourself in a similar situation. Someone is accusing you of committing a crime on one of the highest levels. Although they've yet to prove it, once and if they do, you'll not only lose your job but be ashamed in front of the entire world. Millions of people are watching, and most of them believe that you're guilty.
There's numerous investigations open into your potential criminal actions in order to either prove your innocence or guilt, depending on what you've actually done. In reality, you're innocent. Nobody believes you though, because all recent signs point to the possibility of your crime being a reality.
Most of your fans/supporters are still supporting you and express their denial that you are in fact innocent, while the majority of the world is questioning your every move in potential admission of guilt.
What do you do? Here's a list of your options. It's not an interactive poll, because it's almost obvious which one any sane person would choose. Keep in mind, you are innocent in this entire situation. You have not committed the accusation.
A) Let the investigation continue, knowing it will prove you right in the long term.
B) Terminate the investigation because you think there's no point.
C) Attack the opposing side, throw out other investigations you think they should focus on, consistently mention how innocent you are, all while planning to end the inquiry.
Trump chose letter C, while Republicans chose letter B. Can you honestly blame any Independent or Democrat for thinking that the GOP and Trump are guilty?
Recently, a large amount of the GOP and major top-party Republicans have called out Mueller's investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government officials for being 'useless', a 'waste of time/money' and 'bias' as well as 'illegal' in one case. The thing is, why?!
If the GOP's candidate Donald Trump is really as innocent as they consistently claim to be, with Trump recently spamming 'there was no collusion' sixteen times in an interview with the New York Times, then why won't they let Mueller do his job?
Recent attempts by House Republicans to tempt Deputy attorney general Rosenstein to terminate Robert Mueller, head FBI director,'s investigation due to a reportedly dismissed bias within two FBI agents had been halted but is constantly eyeing Dems right in the eyes and telling them to continue their efforts. There's something that these men are trying to desperately cover up, isn't there?
Put yourself back in the situation described earlier. Why in the world wouldn't you choose option 'A'? Anyone who is sane, and honestly innocent, would let the investigation play out naturally with direct knowledge that it'd eventually prove you to have been right all along. Only then should you take an ego march.
But in the real world, Donald Trump fired James Comey coincidentally only weeks after he appeared to have been notified that Mike Flynn committed a crime and lied to the FBI officials. Also, although he's denying it, there's quite a push by many Republicans to try and discredit/shut Mueller down officially.
Fox News, an extremely right-wing media news outlet called 'state-run' in recent months due to their extreme pro-Trump coverage of virtually only positive press stories about the President, is bringing to the light former inquiries as they tempt other Republicans in major government positions to shut down the inquiry forever.
Let's ask this one more time - WHY?
There's an old saying that has always stuck around. You're innocent until proven guilty, but only criminals run from the truth.
