U.N. Resolution Vote Shows a World United Against Trump Admin

In a huge embarrassment for the US government, an overwhelming majority of global nations voted to condemn America's decision to recognize the highly contested city of Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel. Among 128 countries in the UN General Assembly who voted to condemn the Trump government; many US allies.

France

The nation of France, one of America's strongest and most loyal allies in Europe, voted in favor of condemnation of the American government. The French had recently voiced their disapproval of Trump's decision, saying it threatened the middle-eastern peace process that had been building up for the past several decades.

United Kingdom

For a long time called America's biggest and most significant allies, the UK voted in favor of condemning the American government's moves in Jerusalem. They'd also recently voiced their disapproving opinion on the Trump admin's moves.

Russia

Although not surprising, Russia's government also voiced their disapproval of Trump's moves even after the Trump government threatened to cut aid and loosen relations with any nations that vote 'Yes' for condemning the government. Recently, relations with Russia have been on an increase following Trump's election.

Germany

The German government had not, to our knowledge, publicly voiced their opinion on the situation following Trump's announcement a few weeks back. However, when it came to the UN resolution vote, the US ally voted in favor of condemnations.

Switzerland

Definitely not one of America's allies, but even the world's most neutral nation voted in the UN resolution in clear-cut condemnation against Trump's administration, probably noticing that it can spark a war. Switzerland hasn't been involved in a military conflict for centuries, and generally avoids getting into global issues.

Canada & Australia

The two nations of which have been teased for decades for being 'mini-Americas' or 'copycats' of the United States; Canada and Australia decided to abstain from voting in the UN resolution in fear of any chance of relation ruins with Trump's government. Australia with a foot to catch when dealing with North Korea definitely needs the US' aid, and Canada afraid of ruining repairs as NAFTA negotiations continue.

North & South Korea

Two of the world's most threatened-by-war countries, South and North Korea, voiced their disapproval in an extremely rare unified opinion. Both voted to condemn the United States' movements to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital city.

Italy & Greece

Both nations considered some of Europe's most economically-threatened countries, even after threats by the US government that they'd cut aid for those who voted to condemn, decided that money wouldn't change their mind and decided to join in with European nations in condemning Trump's decision.

Lebanon & Jordan

Both nations of which are neighboring Palestine and Israel, two of the countries in question, urged the UN alongside Egypt to vote to condemn the decision in hopes that it'd change DC's opinion. They both voted in favor of condemnation.

Israel & USA

The United States and Israel were the only two significant countries that voted against condemnation of Trump's government's movements in Jerusalem. Obviously, this being as both of the countries are the two in question.

China

The Chinese government, let alone being topic of many humanitarian issues worth condemnations of the UN in general, voted in favor of condemnation of the US movements in Jerusalem hinting it could bring a conflict of peace in Asia's western region and the middle-eastern countries already in ruins.

Yemen, Venezuela & Syria

Three of the world's most endangered countries. With Syria and Venezuela in a huge civil war, and Yemen with an outstanding crisis unfolding across their nation, all of which urged the US to retake their position saying it would once again hinder the peace process in the middle-east. Venezuela slammed the US for being against peace, as Yemen hoped that they could urge to avoid another conflict in the middle-east.
