NEW UPDATES New pitches suggest that the Amtrak train that derailed near Tacoma in Washington State was going around 80 mph (miles/hour) in a 30 mph (miles/hour) zone, which may have put too much pressure on the rails. Train control is also believed to have been a factor. The mayor of a nearby town had predicted an accident on the rails weeks prior to the opening, calling them unsafe.
Some worrying reports out of Washington State near Tacoma City took America by surprise today when police confirmed an Amtrak train had derailed and had been held responsible for numerous fatalities, and an enormously large quantity of injuries as passengers were thrown across their cabins on the new route.
Officials of the Amtrak services confirmed it had been inaugural day for the new rails intended on making the travel times for local citizens shorter. Unconfirmed reports to our sources told reporters and journalists that the time saved would be anywhere between around 10 or 15 minutes on this train service. Unfortunately, it would never finish it's first route since opening.
The train would be involved in a devastating crash once hitting an overpass. CNN, the New York Times and Fox News - some of the nation's most qualified news organizations - confirmed that 13 of the train's passenger cars had jumped and derailed from the rails after what currently stands as an unknown issue to our sources. Amtrak confirmed that the positive train control had not been activated.
The train's cars went flying off of the rail's overpass and down onto the highway below, striking numerous trucks and cars that apparently 'packed' the street. Some cars were hanging off the overpass onto Interstate-5 highway, others completely flipped on the other side of the overpass down directly onto the interstate highway.
According to police and medics, at least 5 cars had been struck by the train cars that came slamming down onto traffic below. Quite a number of those injured, and potentially fatalities came from those effected by the train's tumbling. However, it is clear the majority of the human-life carnage came from on the train directly.
Passengers that survived the crash said that they heard crumpling noises as well as long bangs before their car went flying and they were catapulted into the seats in front of them, some flying all the way to the front of the train - depending on where they were seated, and in which train car they were in.
Medics confirmed that over 100 people had been hospitalized with at least 3 have been confirmed dead in the train derailment crash. Not too long ago a similar derailment in Pennsylvania had killed eight citizens and injured dozens others.
Although the US President did send his condolences and prayers to the victims of today's horrible crash, he did initially start with a massively-criticized political push before even acknowledging that citizens had been hurt.
Once briefed of the derailment and crash near Tacoma, Washington - the US President tweeted urging his other governmental officials to push forth more infrastructure changes instantly suggesting that failing US infrastructure was to blame for the crash. This had been unconfirmed at the time, and was a full assumption.
After being criticized heavily by not only Dems but also a number of his own supporters leaving comments on his tweet; he then released a follow-up of which he sent his prayers to the victims involved in the crash. In his National Security Strategy speech; he also described his prayers for those involved for a second time.
Many Democrats, including left-wing media sources argued that Trump's consistent pushes for political reforms during times of crisis - including in recent terror attacks - is seen as not only unpresidential, but also as inhuman. Only a while ago, a terror attack killed 8 in New York City. Before offering his prayers, he had pushed forth his ideology that Muslims are to blame and pushed for his travel ban.
A similar push was made after 49 died in America's 2nd deadliest terror attack in Orlando, Florida where he suggested Islamic radicalization was to blame. He also attacked and pushed for his travel ban when ISIS terrorized Egypt only weeks ago and killed over 300 citizens at a mosque in Sinai.
