Reports are coming in that the CIA, one of America's most significant Intelligence Agencies, played an enormous part in the defense of Russian citizens within the city of St. Petersburg involving a now-foiled terror plot by ISIS militants and terrorists. At this time, Russian officials said seven citizens have been detained in connection with the sincerely dangerous plot to terrorize Russia - again.
In April of 2017, Russia's 2nd biggest city (St. Petersburg) reported that an ISIS suicide bomber conducted an act of terror in a metro station in the heart of the city. The attack killed 16 people, including the perpetrator, and injured up to 65 other citizens caught right near the bombing scene. Videos of the explosion went viral.
ISIS claimed the terror attack as their own, it was one of the first attacks in Russia's nation. It was conducted this year, in 2017, known as ISIS' 'experimental' year with attacks in rarely-struck countries like the UK, Spain, Canada, Russia, and quite a number of other countries including the extremely neutral Sweden.
According to our sources, the foiled plot was aimed at the St Petersburg Cathedral and was going to be carried out on Saturday, December 17th, 2017. The attack could've easily killed a large amount of Christian prayers. The attack may have also been planned to be carried out on nearby streets.
Russian officials said along with the seven suspected terrorists currently in custody, their police force also seized numerous explosive devices and armed weapons. At the scene, they found 'terror-supporting literature' that proved their relevance and ties with the Islamic State of Syria.
The terror plot comes as ISIS vowed to carry out 'even more' attacks on global nations following Iraq's declaration of victory after American and global troops aided in kicking the terror group out of the country. Their efforts to deteriorate ISIS within Syria continue as ISIS' only major stronghold remains in that country lead by Assad.
Not too long ago; a terror attack struck New York City. An explosion was detonated in the Port Authority bus terminal, injuring 4 citizens. Only a few weeks prior, another attack in NYC killed eight citizens (six of which were tourists) when an Uzbekistan immigrant ran a truck into a crowd of people on a bus terminal.
Russian President Vladimir Putin called US President Trump to thank America's intel agencies, specifically the CIA, mentioning they may not have been able to stop the attack's significance with fatalities in Russia if the CIA did not intervene and send help to the Russian partnered agencies to avoid carnage.
Putin confirmed that, if it were to occur within the future, he can guarantee Russian agencies would tell American officials should any threat be imposed on American citizen life in the case of a terror attack or any significant threat. "They will immediately transmit information to their American colleagues and partners."
The attack plot that threatened numerous lives in the Christian Cathedral in St. Petersburg comes as ISIS vows 'Christmas Bloodshed' with a recent threat that had appeared to target the Vatican. Last year, the similar threat was misconstrued as a threat 'only related to the Vatican prayers', but an attack was carried out on a Christmas market in Berlin.
It also comes as the UK warns it's citizens to avoid travelling to Canada's provinces in light of recent terror incidents throughout the country; specifically two terror attacks claimed by ISIS being carried out in the Alberta city of Edmonton. It also comes as the terror group released a propaganda video that seemed to threaten Toronto.
