Growing list of US Senators call on Trump to resign immediately
US Senators are mass-calling current President Trump to 'resign immediately' following the resurfaced allegations of sexual assault, harassment and misconduct in Trump's rough history seen as 'disgusting' by countless Dems, and some GOP members.
Recently, the count of Senators calling on Trump to immediately resign following the resurfacing allegations against him have grown to a growing 3 Senators, all part of the Democratic Party of America. The most recent to join is the New York Senator Gillibrand, who is known for fighting against sexual misconduct in the US military.
"President Trump has committed assault, according to these women, and those are very credible allegations of misconduct and criminal activity, and he should be fully investigated and he should resign," she told reporters of other news organizations while being interviewed on her stance of the recent resurfacing accusations.
The White House made it quite clear through Sanders, the WH press secretary, stating their clear-cut stance on Trump's accusers is that, basically, they are lying and that the allegations are incorrect and fabricated to ruin the President's reputation. It correlates to Trump's response to the surfaced allegations during the 2016 campaign.
He fully denied the allegations and went as far as attacking the looks of one of his most vocal accusers; asking his supporters at a rally if they really think that he'd go for [her] if he was to commit such an atrocious crime against women. He almost fully ignored details of the other 12 to 17 accusers, many of which have since 'disappeared' from media radars and stopped speaking on the issue.
Recently, 13 of the accusers publicly came out to 'retake the spotlight' and 'reform the way America thinks of [them]' following the accusations being ignored ever since Trump took office. They reminded America of their stories, 3 of them went into details of how Trump committed sexual misconduct when they were present.
Some accused him of groping, others accused him of sexual misconduct while they were present and others accused him of sexual harassment as he made 'unwanted moves on [them]' in order to pursue a sexual relationship.
Sarah Sanders responded to the upcoming of the accusers saying that their accusations were discredited by 'several eyewitnesses' of which none have come out as of yet which forces us to assume that there really aren't any - but that's just speculations based off the fact that they haven't proven the allegations aren't true.
Gillibrand went on to tell CNN's Amanpour that she finds the numerous allegations 'deeply heartbreaking' and that if Trump refuses to resign, she urges Congress to begin detailed and deep investigations and inquiries into Trump's accusations into whether or not they are credible and deserve punishment. The encouragement for Congress to take action was also pushed forth by the 3 accusers who spoke out today.
The Senator also expressed her concern with the number of the allegations, specifically citing the fact that the allegations are 'credible, numerous'.
