President Trump's approval rating plunges to 29% in new poll
The sitting President of the United States has the lowest approval rating in American history with recorded approval scores. It is the third time he's broken this record in the short so-far 11 months in office of the US Presidency.
There's been many former Presidents with low approval ratings. Bill Clinton, however, is the only US leader that Trump's approval ever surpassed - specifically for one month, and that month only. The month prior to Trump passing Clinton, they had reached even. Don't forget, Bill Clinton was a President that was impeached by the House.
President Trump started his presidency with a skeptical 45% approval rating, which is quite steady as a start. It isn't surprising when Presidents dip a few months later, however, just like President Trump's approval did. Due note, January is Trump's official first time sitting in office but only served from January 21st to the end of the month.
In February, Trump's first full month in the White House, his approval made a once again skeptical rise to 46% as the President rushed to try and accomplish his promises that he said he'd make happen within his first 100 days. According to our analysts, the first few months of his presidency had steady above-40 ratings mostly because Trump was rushing to push forth his agenda, which miserably failed during the moments, reason being why it later dipped.
In March, Trump's approval took a -4% dive from 46% to 42% as many of his supporters began realizing that the first 100 days, shortly coming to an end, were not as large a success as he was claiming. April saw a 1% rise to 43% as the President's accomplishments were reviewed often times by right-leaning media sources like Fox News. Technically, Trump's 100 days ended near the end of this month and around the time this rate came in.
May saw a dive to 39%, Trump's lowest approval rating yet. Russian collusion swarmed headlines from most major news headlines as the President called the investigation a 'hoax'. Keep in mind, obstruction of justice also took headlines over Trump's dismissal of James Comey back in February. This month also included Trump's arguments with the Australian leaders, his phone call with Putin and meeting with Palestine's leader.
The month of June, Trump's approval went up to 41%, specifically the 2% rise was blamed on Trump's announcement to leave the Paris Agreement regarding to Climate. Many moderate-Republicans and people who abandoned him in May agreed with his job regarding the 'hoax' Climate change response.
July saw Trump at 40%, a small 1% drop from the previous month. With a large topic still being about Russian collusion, obstruction of justice and an increase of hatred on Trump's dismissal from the Paris Climate Accord.
A huge drop broke records in the month of August because of a terror attack by White Supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia that killed 1 and injured 24 others. Trump flip-flopped on the issue up to five times. He only responded to the incident after 3 days, and refused to call out the perpetrators of the attack by name. The next day, a TelePrompTer speech condemned white supremacists and neo-Nazis by Trump. Once again, a day passed, and he made an unannounced condemnation of both sides of the incident - including counter protesters that were attacked by the 'neo-Nazi sympathizers'. Donald Trump's approval hit 36%, the lowest in US history.
The next month, Trump made his way 2% higher with an extremely slow recovery from the Charlottesville response, making himself up to 38%. Unfortunately, September drew more news on the Russia investigations.
In October, breaking situations on the Russia inquiries continued the delay recovery of Trump's approval, however brought it back up into the 40-percentile range at 40%, once again up only 2% from the month prior.
November saw a huge dip to yet the second record breaking approval rating in American history. The previous record, also set by President Trump at 36% in August after the Charlottesville incident, was beaten by November's record of 33%. A huge dip of -7% from the previous month. November brought on extreme news based off of the Russia inquiries and obstruction of justice. Paul Manafort, Rick Gates and George Papadopolous were taken into custody by the FBI, and Papadopolous plead guilty for lying to the FBI and federal investigators in relation to Russian contacts.
December brought on yet the third record breaking historic US Presidential approval rating, going down yet another -4% from November and settling at 29%. This mostly due to an early-month admission to obstruction of justice via Twitter, and the President's endorsement of the accused child predator Senate candidate Roy Moore. On top of this, more news broke in relation to the Russia investigation as Mike Flynn plead guilty to lying to the FBI in correlation with the Russian contacts.
