Singing star Katy Perry and model Gigi Hadid have been banned from entering China, according to officials. This as they applied for travel visas to enter the communist country for a Victoria's Secret fashion show on Monday.

Katy Perry was denied due to a former show in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. Taiwan and China have had confrontation and disagreements for decades. China claims the country is part of their communist regime, but Taipei claims they're independent or they own the entire country of China. This issue goes back to World War Two.

In Taipei, Katy Perry waved the flag of the Taiwanese nation around stage showing her support for the country. It was seen as extremely disrespectful by China's government. She also wore a dress with a certain flower, adopted by Taiwan's anti-China members, all over it. This was also seen as disrespectful.

China, after reviewing and researching her past in Taiwan, decided that it was not a good idea to give the singing pop star a visa to attend the fashion show, saying she was indefinitely not welcomed into the country.

Gigi Hadid had also been refused, along with numerous other models. The reason behind Gigi's ban was due to a February post of her closing her eyes while holding a cookie that resembles Buddha, the god of Buddhism a widely believed religion within the Asian countries, including China.

Bella Hadid had posted the post but later deleted it due to a swash of controversy. Upon researching Hadid, Chinese officials denied her a travel visa saying her disrespect and controversy wasn't welcomed in the country.

Hadid posted a tweet saying she was terribly disappointing she wouldn't be able to make it to China this week for the show, but stated her support for the other models. She did not mention any form of anger with the Chinese government or whoever refused her to be able to visit the country.
