Eight women accuse Roy Moore of sexual assault, harassment and sexual advances
The current U.S. President Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, has recently came out publicly to denounce Alabama senate candidate Roy Moore following accusations that he sexually assaulted and/or harassed up to eight women, up from six earlier Wednesday when the Washington Post announced two more women had stood up.
Beverly Young Nelson is the most recent accuser of Roy Moore; claiming he groped her then continued to sexually assault her in even more gruesome manners. As with most accusations of well known celebrities or politicians, large numbers of people decided they don't believe the accusations and defend the suspect of the crimes.
Moore didn't help the situation. Unlike other known people who have been accused, whether or not they believed the accusations were true or false, they stepped down. Especially in a major political role like Roy Moore who is running for a seat in the U.S. senate in a December 2017 election.
Republicans, at first skeptic and quiet regarding the issue and accusations against their candidate for the Alabama election, have just gotten together to call on judge Moore to step down from his job and his race for Alabama's senate seat next month.
GOP Senate Majority leader McConnell has also gone publicly to call on Roy Moore to step down; saying there is no room for him in the U.S. senate following the accusations. He also confirmed to reporters at a press briefing that the Senate was looking into any ways possible to remove him from power should Moore still be elected.
Moore's Democratic opponent in Alabama is gaining momentum and running a much tougher campaign against Roy following the accusations. His chance to win the election is now rising as many Alabama Republicans have been losing support.
However, a CNN.com poll that went public via Twitter and on their news network channel confirmed more than 40% of Alabama Republicans said they were even more likely to vote Moore following the accusations. This being mostly because of Moore's campaigns claims that the accusations are false and simply to attack the race.
The U.S. President, however, is yet to condemn Roy Moore. Speculation of the reason behind his current refusal to speak of the issue is that he doesn't want to bring light back to his Access Hollywood tape of which he 'gloated' about what appeared to be making sexual advances on women without prior consent because he was a celebrity.
His daughter took the spotlight strongly denouncing Moore and using extremely tough words to do so. "There is a special place in hell for people who prey on children" she said referring to Beverly Young Nelson and 1 other accuser of which accused Moore made advances on them when they were only 14 and 16 years old. Ivanka also said there is no current reason not to believe his accusers.
Roy Moore has also recently been accused by another two women. One of them has said he approached her at a shopping mall of where he was on a watch list for making young teenage women feel disturbed. The new accuser says he approached her and asked her for her phone number. When she declined, he ended up finding it anyhow and called her when she was in her senior high school class. The 17-18 year old teenage girl said at one point he grabbed her and kissed her, she then walked away, the Washington Post reports.
Another accuser said she worked at a different store in the mall, saying that Moore had often times come into her store and frequently consistently asked her out up until she complained to her manager at the time.
