Roy Moore denies allegations; GOP condemns him, calls him to step aside
[Last updated on November 13]
GOP Senator holding a seat in Alabama has stirred tremendous controversies as the senator, Roy Moore, has completely denied all forms of allegations. With his accusers remaining strong and firm on their statements; and Moore standing firm on denying the allegations, what will happen in the December election in Alabama?
Though Alabama is usually a Republican state, Roy Moore has said that he has no intentions to step down from his position as Republican choice for the state's elections. This is hurting the Republican party in the state; as funding for Moore's campaign has now terminated in a stand of solidarity against the man.
GOP majority leader has also condemned Roy Moore stating he believes the accuser; calling him to step aside. Most other Republicans have also called on the governor to give up his race for another candidate to increase chances of Republicans winning the state and avoiding the Democrats taking the seat from them.
Though it'll be extremely difficult, there is a slight chance that Democrats may be able to fully flip the usually-red state of Alabama and while doing so, obtaining a seat in the US Senate. This would be an extremely catastrophic result for the Republican Party.
Kellyane Conway has came out to say that the White House's position on the situation is that if allegations are true; Roy Moore should step down from his position.
The step down by Moore is almost crucial for Republicans by this point. However, sources have told us that more than 35% of Alabama Republicans say they are even more inclined to vote for Moore in the next December election than they would be without the allegations. They called it an attempt to sway the election results.
These allegations come as trends involving Hollywood, as well as other major political giants, are taking the world by surprise. Another MR Times story based on the allegations that Kevin Spacey, main actor on Netflix's House of Cards, had resulted with the actor being cut and the show's next season being cancelled instantly.
Roy Moore was accused by numerous women - one of which claims he made sexual advances on her when she was only 16 (Beverly Young Nelson). Her gruesome descriptions of the incident have been posted on numerous websites; but will be left out of this article for comfort.
If the Democrats win the Alabama senate seat; it will be a dangerous move that can be catastrophic to any legislation that the Trump administration attempts to pass. We know that recent attempts to pass other bills have been quite complicated for the administration to push through; with barely enough Republican votes to make them realities.
With one less Republican seat, any attempts for the Trump administrations will be that much harder to pass.
