Trump wants a 'good relationship' with Russia, suggests easing sanctions
The US Pres. Donald Trump has been under investigation for colluding with Russia's government and the Kremlin to help get him elected in 2016. So far, we've confirmed that Russia did in fact try to meddle into the election in favor of Trump - though no direct collusion, excluding an indictment proven guilty in relation to such investigations - has been proven.
However, Trump's consistent defense of the Russian president Vladimir Putin has given many people some forms of confusion. In fact, during Trump's continuous Asia-pacific trip he defended Putin's belief that Russia did not influence the election in ambush of the US Intel declarations that they did, before flip-flopping back.
But one thing is seriously worrying not only Democrats and left-wing moderates, but the Republican party as well. It's getting seriously hard to not see any collusion.
One main reasoning for Moscow to want to meddle favoring Trump or colluding with Trump officials to try and get him elected is for the Trump campaign to promise something in return. Perhaps easing US sanctions on the Russian government..?
Well, as Trump remains in Asia, he has recently said that the US should try and prioritize becoming friendly with the Kremlin and restoring relations to terminate long-held tensions since the cold war. One way to do this, according to Donald Trump, is to terminate or ease the sanctions put in place on Russia's government.
This trigerred alarms across Washington DC and the political world signifying that potential collusion with the Kremlin to elect Trump may be proven if the President tries to ease tensions. It isn't the first time Trump calls to restore relations.
Bob Mueller has been investigating forms of collusion between the Trump campaign officials and Russian government officials since last year; with one of the biggest signs of the potential that they did collude being a Trump Tower meeting orchestrated by Trump's son, Donald Jr., in order to meet with a Russian government lawyer in order to collect 'dirt' on then-candidate Hillary Clinton.
Also, an indictment that proved George Papadopolous to be guilty for lying to the FBI about Russian contacts involving the Trump Tower June 2016 meeting by Mueller's team have not eased the theories that the two governments did collude.
